Polypropylene syringe filters are hydrophobic, however, are easily wetted and often used with aqueous solutions. PP exhibits low extractables and broad chemical compatibility and may tolerate pH from 1 to 14; having excellent compatibility with acids and bases. PP is suited for clarification and is often used as prefiltration ahead of membrane filters.
